The Disney Wonder - Surprise Encounters

You never know who you will brush shoulders with on The Disney Wonder! Our first surprise encounter with Disney Characters was when we were walking to dinner one night. Coming down the hallway were Mickey and Minnie Mouse! They were all dressed up in their finery for the Golden Mickey's Night. 

Another night we were walking down the hallway and there was Cinderella! Do you think she was on her way to meet Prince Charming? :) I like to think so!

I learned to always have your camera ready as you just never know when an opportunity will crop up for a close encounter with a Disney Character aboard The Disney Wonder!

Towel Animals On The Disney Cruise Line Ship The Wonder

When you cruise with the Disney Cruise Line you are surrounded by special touches that just make your experience aboard ship even more fun. Each night when we would return to our stateroom on The Disney Wonder our bed would be turned down, a towel animal would be waiting for us, and some yummy chocolate would be close by.

A swan waited for us on the first night.

How about a dinosaur? Next to the chocolate is a note that reminded all cruisers to set their clock back an hour that night. Disney Cruise Line is great at keeping 
their cruisers informed.

We found our nightly chocolate as they eyes of this cute little money! Our Stateroom host told us that if we didn't talk to the monkey every once in a while the monkey would become very mischievous.  Guess we talked to it enough, as we always found our stateroom in pristine condition. 

A bunny greeted us one night, but I must have eaten the chocolate before I took the photo! 

Talk about puppy dog eyes!

Cleaning Up On The Disney Cruise Line - Magical Memory Monday

When you walk into the Atrium Lobby of the Disney Wonder cruise ship and look up you will see an amazing chandelier called "Festa Venezia". It is made up of more then 500 handmade trumpet-shaped elements.  Yes, it is beautiful, and wow is it ever big!! On our last cruise we were heading out to visit Cabo San Lucas and decided to walk through the Atrium first.  Much to our surprise there was a cherry picker device sitting in the middle of the Atrium and a Crew Member standing on it, holding a long pole and getting ready to be raised up. Of course I had to stay and find out what was going to happen next!

It was time for a little cleaning! 

While he was cleaning the different trumpet shapes they shook a little. That made me hold my breath a little bit, but the Crew Member just took it in stride.  I wonder how many times he has been up there cleaning the chandelier? The Disney Cruise Line is very good about keeping their ships in tip top condition and this is just an example of how they do that! 

The Disney Wonder Visits Cabo San Lucas - Wordless Wednesday

Visiting Cabo San Lucas while on the Disney Cruise Line's Mexican Rivera Cruise left me with many wonderful memories. Today I picked three of my favorites to share with you.

Breakfast surprise on the Disney Cruise Line

Today's Magical Memory is about our Mexican Rivera Cruise aboard Disney Cruise Line's ship The Wonder. Our favorite place to eat breakfast was at the Beach Blanket Buffet. We were able to snag this table on deck next to the railing. Such a view! You would think that this view alone would be enough to totally please anyone.
But wait...

Look over there! A whale!  Yes...really...a whale!

We actually saw two whales out there! I wonder if they were enjoying their breakfast too? I was sure glad they joined us for ours! :)  This wasn't the only time we saw whales while on this cruise, but that is for another post!

Castaway Club Member Gift

Once you sail with the Disney Cruise Line you automatically become a Castaway Club Member.  Castaway Club Members receive a few fun perks, and perks are always nice! On our Mexican Rivera Cruise on the Disney Wonder I was thrilled to see a surprise waiting for me in our stateroom!

It was a gift for being a Castaway Club member and returning to enjoy another cruise with the Disney Cruise Line.

At first I was just thrilled to receive the bag as I thought that was a great gift all on it's own. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the bag and realized there were things waiting for me to discover inside!

Inside the bag  was rice krispie treats in the shape of flip flops, two drinking containers and a fun key chain. Yes, I was a happy Castaway Club member to be sure! I also received a lanyard that stated that I was a Castaway Club member when we checked in, but I guess I was just too excited about these goodies to include it in the photo. 

There are three different levels in the Castaway Club. They are: Silver Castaway (1-4 cruises sailed)  Gold Castaway ( 5-9 cruises sailed) and Platinum Castaway (10 + cruises sailed). There are different perks or benefits for each level. I am not at the Platinum Level yet...but what a goal! :) 

Adventures Away Deck Party Aboard The Disney Wonder

Today's Magical Memory Monday's post is about the Adventures Away Deck Party aboard the Disney Wonder that was held before we left port in Los Angeles. We were heading for the Mexican Rivera and the excitement was  building!

 

Little wands with red tinsel were handed out to the children (Okay, I will admit it.... I had one too!). The Disney Characters came out and we joined along and waved our tinsel wands with them.

The Characters and Crew Members danced and sang and started the cruise off in style.

Toward the end of the party white streamers were shot out over the crowd. The Adventures Away Deck Party is a fantastic way to celebrate the beginning of the cruise.  You can feel the expectations of a fun 

cruise in the air. 

Later when we were walking along the deck we noticed some of the white streamers had gotten blown against one of the funnels next to deck party area. This made me smile. It made me realize that just like the  streamers reminded me of the party it was only the beginning of the experiences that I would have on this cruise and the memories that would be made!

Lets Go To Minnie's Fiesta Grande!

On the Mexican Rivera Cruise aboard the Disney Wonder I had a lot of fun attending Minnie's Fiesta Grande! Deck parties are usually a lot of fun and this one was no exception!

Minnie and her friends welcomed us and treated us to some Mexican dances and entertainment.

 Goofy was a wonderful entertainer. He played the trumpet and helped everyone learn the Mexican Hat Dance!

Children were led out to help teach everyone too!

 Men (a.k.a. Dad's) were brought up on stage for a Mexican Hat Dancing contest. The men took turns dancing for everyone and the winner was selected by the audience.

Of course Mikey was there too to join in on the festivities!  He and Minnie dance very well together! :)

Wave Phone Anyone?

Look what I found in my stateroom aboard the Disney Wonder.  A Wave Phone!

So why the excitement about the Wave Phone?  My husband loved to get up and watch the sun rise each morning and then wander around and enjoy the ship until breakfast time. Me? No way, I would rather sleep! When I was up and ready to eat breakfast all I had to do was call him and arrange a meeting place. We were both happy! :)  The Wave Phone can be found in each stateroom but beware, if the phone is lost, damaged or not returned to the stateroom prior to debarkation you will be charged $250.00 for the phone. Yikes! You can bet that I made sure the phones were on the desk just like we found them before we left the ship!

Mexian Rivera Cruise Memories

I just returned from a wonderful cruise with the Disney Cruise Line to the Mexican Rivera! We sailed for seven nights aboard the Disney Wonder and had a fantastic time! We visited two ports, Puerto Vallarta, 

 Cabo San Lucas and enjoyed days at sea. :)

 Once you have traveled with the Disney Cruise Line you are a part of the Castaway Club. Since I am a member of this club there was a surprise waiting for us in our stateroom! 

A neat duffle bag, two water bottles, a key chain and two crisped rice treats in the shape of flip flops. Surprises are so much fun!

Disney Cruise Line And Castaway Cay

Do you enjoy the Pirates Of The Caribbean movies? I sure do! Did you know that the actual ship that was used in the movies, The Flying Dutchman is harbored at Disney's private island called Castaway Cay?

Castaway Cay is one of the ports of call for the Disney Cruise Line's Bahama cruises.When I was aboard the Disney Cruise Line's ship, The Wonder, this is what I saw when I looked off the deck.  Can't you just imagine Captain Jack standing on the deck? I sure could. The crystal blue water and the sandy beach is the perfect back drop for The Flying Dutchman.

The Flying Dutchman isn't the only thing to see while on Castaway Cay but that is for

another post!
